More shots? I couldn’t be happier
If the weather forecast uses terms like “localized showers”, pay attention. Yesterday, we received about 30 cm of water. No big deal. In contrast, just across the strait, certain areas received fully ten times that amount, in the same time period.
This is an odd time of the year, what with the ground wanting to be frozen, and so the roads (over there) took a washing. Or washout. I have to sort that out. Anyhow, there will be some needed repairs before winter gets underway. When the news gives as a repair timeline “days or weeks”, you know that this one was more than a quick sprinkling.
Just in time for my Christmas wish list: the province will be providing free vaccinations against shingles, in the new year. I’m in the target age group, so I’ll be dropping by for the latest round of shots. A big year, compared to the past. I don’t know if I received three different “courses” of inoculation since I learned to read. And that wasn’t a recent thing. I’d not considered shingles as a thing, ever since I learned that it was fee based. Now that little bump in the road has disappeared, and I would prefer to miss out on any long neurological pain sessions. I’ve heard that the discomfort level is really high, making a simple jab on the ar m into a minor moment.
In keeping with vax news (and Xmas), one city church will include being Covid vaxed to attend services. Others are expected to follow the lead. Because, faith alone is not enough; there must be actions.
