Down from my ladder

posted in politics, technology |

No waiting for the full moon. If we want to go outside, after dark, the two garage area lights are nowin place. They even turn on when you get close, and turn off after a mysterious delay (I don’t want to go back up on the step ladder; things work). But, seriously, the last few weeks while things worked “sometimes” are now history. My task here is done.

Son #1 has confirmed that his professional status just improved. Salary, conditions, the whole package. His (now former) boss wasn’t impressed with the news, but you have to pay for what you want in business. He (that boss) bet on the horse, and now the horse has bolted. I think that this is a wonderful thing.

The TV is stuck on that British series that seems to come on too often. Nice music, but a lot of folderol. The people lack direction in their lives!

To the south, the former Secretary of State has died. He was also a decorated soldier. And he was vaccinated. Not a good sign for the rest of us; we believe that we are safe from harm and then this. To be fair, there were extenuating circumstances.

A special nod to stupid politics. The AB government is about to hold a referendum, on rejection of equalization payments. It’s a Canadian thing, where we take from the rich and give to the poor. Yes, just like Robin Hood. In any case, a decision to “reject payments” does not mean that the province will no longer pay. Stupidity is expensive.
