Desserts from over at the light

posted in food, travel |

Imagine that! There are ways to raise your credit score. Like as if that matters to me, at this point in my life. Guess what? When I buy fuel, or food, the merchants don’t really care. As far as I can figure, only those that plan on getting richer (at my expense) actually pay attention. A sad commentary on our current system, and the blame can be coloured Capital Grey. Here: a cheap how-to for the frugally minded.

Hope  that helps you along your personal road to riches.

For those that live with a lighthouse in their lives, the towering monuments are a way to avoid shallow shoals. For those of us on shore, we use it as a beacon to the local ice cream vendor. Went this evening, in fact; managed to drip a rainbow of dairy on my clean shirt. It was good, though.

And then we went for a long country drive, back into the woods. A full eight minutes off the main road, and having rejected a cellphone or a GPS, we were left wondering how far we could actually go (I checked; not much further). Lots of trees, and only a smidgen of swampy going. Our rig is not off-road ready, but when son #1 shows up with his shiny Jeep, we’ll try and get some mud on the “paws”. Show him that we also live in a paradise for trailing.

I’ll try and find a proper map, first. Prepare him for the curves and dips, while keeping a surprise or two in my back pocket. Just for the record, our road (this evening) has allowed logs to come out for close to a century. A proper path for ponies.
