Doorstep drops? Probably not

posted in economy |

The gap between headquarters and the local branch came back to bite us, today. We’ve been wanting to install a trailer hitch on the new car for about a year, already; finally made the move to get the job done about a month ago. I’ll not name the firm, but if you ever want to haul a trailer, they’re the goto people. Or maybe not.

The car went west, this morning. Arrived for the install appointment. And found that the actual hitch had never been ordered, despite repeated phone calls, back checking, assuring payment via plastic, etc. We’ll try a different strategy, next week, but it shows that you can’t take some things for granted, despite international advertisements.

While others are off for an evening cruise (under showery skies), I’m hanging with the two hounds. Forget conversation, This is all about my willingness to share from my dog biscuit box.

It’s hard (for me) to believe that we’re halfway through the summer. I’ve had no indicators. No sunburn. No sand in the privates. This could be any other time of the year (not hard winter, perhaps, but in general terms).

I subscribe to a survey site (which pays me in five cent virtual coin). Lately, a lot of interest in my opinion on home grocery delivery. I can’t imagine it, out here in the country, but firms want to know: should they start mobilizing for doorstep drops. I still want to see and hold my grub, so going to a website and checking quantity vs quality is not where I’m “at”. Did I mention living in the country? Good.
