The local world is in sleepy mode
After yesterday’s oversight (on what can be seen through the window), another check was made this afternoon. Sure enough; NS, in its hilly glory. The current weather looks very much like yesterday (but tomorrow is supposed to be very different), so I now have my benchmark.
This was a provincial holiday. The world around here went into sleepy mode (without a reason to be alarmed, we might as well just stay home). No mail delivery; at least, no parcels. No construction noise. I was able to follow the threaded music on YouTube and pretend that I was attending a concert (think, ’90. A lifetime ago). No new talent discovered, but an affirmation that my personal tastes still go with great content.
When I open my web browser, I have a digest of suggested reading material. Oddly, I’m getting a lot of content that deals with improving my odds of sleeping through the night. Do they watch over me? Is someone slipping a note that I’m not staying in deep REM for eight hours at a time? Call me curious.
There’s also a steady stream of ways to improve my retirement. Again, how do they know so much about me? And could my present “no need to go to the office, ever” be any better? For those of you who still face the treadmill, life is better when you finally stop punching that clock. Easier on your knuckles, if nothing else.
And finally, the federal government has discovered another source of vaccines. Given that we’re really far down the list of countries with successful campaigns against the pandemic, this is good.
