Rolled-up sleeves and locked down stores

The new car went for its first visit to the dealership, this afternoon. Apparently all went well.

Sometimes, the political class should think before they speak. Take as a case in point, the leader of the Opposition. He has recanted his recent offering that “residential schools were designed to provide education”. D’ya think, big guy?

I missed my chance. Microsoft has decided to close all of its retail outlets. I assume that anyone still wanting/needing a “Surface” will be able to find one; just not in a bricks and mortar establishment.

In a rare moment of optimism, the country (coast to coast) began injecting vaccine against Covid-19 into the arms of the willing. The best things start out small, so the actual number of doses administered remains symbolic. But, given the lead time, science has actually produced a miracle.

Do I sound like I’m sold on the idea? Oh, yes! Someone put it in simple terms: given the choice between the vaccine and the virus, which would you prefer? Right now, we have been told that “all who want can have it, between now and the end of summer ‘21”.

As of tomorrow, the province of Quebec is going into lockdown mode (better than our local Circuit Breaker mode). Two of the kids fit the profile of essential workers, so they won’t be locked in their respective basements, but Xmas shopping just took a hit to the back of the knees. Something like this will be required in a few other provinces, if the nation has any hope of reducing the number of afflicted.
