Preparing my late evening snack
Pardon the distraction. While I try to remember what set today apart from any other day, the TV is on. The program chosen, “The Crown”, is covering a period that I remember: when the Brits set off to save the shearing season on a far-off island close to the antipodes. Yes, I am that old, kids. Remember that any prior knowledge of the “war” comes from the press coverage I received. And with that, I realize that I know little to nothing about what really went on. I mean, I won’t be having an exam on the content, but just knowing that my history is woven from flimsy yarn is enough to make me sad.
Of course, I could spend my remaining time revisiting all of the back stories I heard over the years. And it doesn’t matter, really.
What did I accomplish, today? Well, I checked “Harvey the RV”, to make sure the batteries were up. And I continued to eat a diet which is rich in vitamin C (I might not be pronouncing that correctly). Anyhow, grapes, tangerines, bananas; all good for me.
And when I go to sleep, several hours from now, I will go without shame. My actions are dull, perhaps, but none need take offense.
Hey, our Supreme Court has made a ruling that should stir things. Apparently, registering sex offenders is discriminatory (or as it was worded, “unfair to the mentally ill”). Work through that one, while I go and get some more fresh fruit. Bedtime snack. Oddly, the dog doesn’t beg for his share.
