Only a few weeks more on the roller coaster
It has been a good day, here in our world. Now we have to fasten our seatbelts; the ride on the rollercoaster goes on, for another seventy-five days. After years of waiting for what should have been the inevitable, our suspension of disbelief is still under test. Yes, the results of the 2020 American election (one of them), has been announced, barring derailment of our train, and when they say “people are dancing in the streets”, there’s no exaggeration.
I have other distractions. Getting the BGM inside is now accomplished. The Rogue is still out for its cleaning, but the roof rack is ready. Oh, and Patty Gurdy has released trailers from the next album, on YouTube and it looks/sounds great. I’d put in a digital order, if Germany knew how to interface with Canada through Amazon.
On the TV, we now subscribe to various channels from around the globe, and like here, the police thriller is the main course. What is this fascination with law and order? I’m stressed by the different telephone ringtones (a flashback to the workplace, where our fifty-plus handsets had ringtones that were easily modified by bored users).
Not much more to add, on a quiet evening. Based on the Covid reports from ON and QC, any thoughts of travel (there) in the next ninety days remain silly dreams. Too much.
And so I’ll continue with my own routine. No, I am not bored, or stressed. Challenged? A little. If this is what getting older is all about, I should have spent more time on the mental preparations.
