In case of a storm
We’re under one of those weather watches, as a hurricane aims for the area. I’m so hyped that I just broke open my bag of storm chips. Still have two days to go. Is that a bad thing?
Hard to tell what will happen. The electrical utility lost power, this afternoon, in the central part of the province. Maybe it was a “test”. I verified the outage map, and the count is now down to three customers, so that looks like a good sign.
My prep schedule is rather laid back. I plan to move the stinky bins into the garage, and the chairs on the rear deck have already been placed (shades of the Titanic). By this time tomorrow, the breeze should pick up, and we have been told to expect some rain. OK, a lot of rain. Better than snow. Speaking of which, we still don’t have a plan in place for the next six months (typical snow period). Maybe I can train the dog to handle a sled. Will the kayak work well? So many variables.
Sailboats are being lifted out of the water, in the city. Not the ferry boats, though. A case where bigger is better.
Of course, a monster storm is what we need right now. Distraction from all the other newsworthy stuff. Plague, wildfire, floods, crazy politics. When the year 2020 comes up, in a trivia contest, there’ll be so many possibilities for the question pool. I should probably reassure the kids that we won’t be dropping in for a quick room inspection.
