Another round of my money being spent

posted in politics |

The new government has tabled their first budget, in which all sorts of innovative ways are being found to spend the accumulated fiscal wealth. Would someone please pause the video long enough for the rest of us to do some high school math?

All the money originally belonged to the Canadian public. All that will be spent STILL belongs to the public. The government is there to make rational and intelligent choices on where and when. I can read the various documents available to illustrate the process, but more and more I am left with the distinct impression that I’m watching some amateur magicians with some rigged decks of cards. Yes, the card I chose will always come up at the right focus, but the deck still is not exactly “Hoyle”. I will not be better off at the end of the day, nor will the rest of my thirty-five million co-citizens.
