A sling (for outrageous fortune)
I received a short message from a neighbour, today. A short reminder to try and see the movie starring her brother… wait? What? Does this mean that I know someone related to a Hollywood star? Indeed!
Here’s the catch. I don’t go to the cinema. Well, almost never. There was that one instance, back in ’11, when we were wandering around the Avalon/Babylon Mall (thank you, Wonderful Grand Band). We decided to do something out of the ordinary, which is how I both went to a movie AND saw something from the Harry Potter collection. But, back to the present. It seems that the movie theatres miss having clients stop by for a bit of seat warming and popcorn eating. Not me, specifically; the rest of you. I am an outlier.
Knowing that I won’t be heading into the city to see a show that won’t make it here, I received a reference link to a firm that offers in-home viewing for a fee. Popcorn not included. I’ll wait (and see what comes to pass).
Our dog is getting older. He managed to “throw his back out”, and so today we received a sling. No other term fits. Something to allow us to assist him during ascent and descent on the various sets of stairs around here. My needs are secondary. But what caught my attention was the other items available for older dogs. Specifically, stick-on pads for paws that slip on smooth surfaces. I’m trying to figure out how I convince an older dog to adapt. Does he have to put these pads on by hand (paw)? Will they be better than a homebrew solution involving duct tape? I must learn more.
