A quick broom-over and then done
The moon is rising, and my task time in the basement is ending. Scheduled success. Yesterday, I managed to transfer the majority of the materials, out of the space that will (some day) be my playroom. This afternoon, the remainder. Fiddly stuff, requiring some thought. And that big (heavy) desktop will stay there, with some of the walls being built in harmony. Soon. Next week? The week after?
In any case, I also gave things a broom-over, and moved the debris to the bin. My guess is that if it fits in a clear plastic bag, then it will also leave in the “dumpster on wheels” that stops by every couple of weeks.
I still haven’t decided what to do with the monitoring gear. The antenna wires limit how far I can move the tiny computers, and as for my weather station; well, time will tell. If I can avoid unplugging everything, I won’t get those dunning emails that point out how my site is off the grid.
Keeping an eye on the kids, as they sort out their own emotional lives. First dates: what a hot mess that can be. I checked out a photo from one of the targeted restaurants, and wonder if son #1 knows the rationale behind so many different shaped tumblers on the table top. Not something we ever practiced at home. I’m sure he’ll figure it out, but as a parent who lives far away, I have to pretend I’m part of the picture. No matter. He’ll do just fine (says every father, ever).
