Planning with flexibility included
Outside, at the end of the lane, a test of opposing forces: our recycling pickup is scheduled for early tomorrow, so I’m proving proactive by piling loose sheets of cardboard and a number of oversize blue bags where the truck can access them without hazard. Here’s the catch. The winds are at gale force, and we may actually see an increase overnight. Will my materials still be there, or will I have to play ditch-fetch tomorrow?
I had the great plan of measuring the value of my variable capacitors this afternoon. Found a fresh battery, to power up my capacitance meter. Set up a file to record my readings. And then didn’t manage to get a single reading that made any sense. Unsure what the proper technique will be; the instruction sheet, translated from the original Chinese, did not move me beyond my starting point. There must be a video that explains how.
We’re trying to make travel plans for the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, our children have morphed into adults, each with their own schedules. Forget the traditional process of gathering around a table and getting turkey bellies. They’re not available, at least not at the same time. I don’t want the dinner to last for a week (as the gravy might congeal along the way). Is a sub sandwich from the local shop a valid alternative?
And the other part of the plan originally saw us assembling with the greater group (siblings), but now those real-life schedules have upset that idea. In truth, I don’t know where I’ll be, two weeks hence.
