Sequence meals and sleep

posted in economy, humour |

I decided to make the final push, this morning. As of lunchtime, the deck is clear. The BBQ is inside, ready to hibernate, and the furniture “that will never rot” is piled below the deck. I got everything done before the winds came up and the water came down, and I’m pleased with myself.

We had a second opinion, from an electrician, this afternoon. Maybe I don’t need that pony-panel. Maybe I can get by with fewer dedicated circuits. Maybe covers so many sins of omission, don’t you think. This time around, the young tech comes from local (musical) royalty and is just putting in a few days of applied effort before his departure for the jungle. Literally.

We also received a new box of coffee, just in time. I was down to grains in the hopper and trying to accept that we might need a bridge bag of something ordinary from the supermarket. Now, we can face a winter without worry. Yeah, coffee lady!

Another episode of His Dark Materials is playing in the next room and I am SO impressed with the soundtrack. IMDB tells me that Lorne Balfe is the creative force behind this music, and I want more. Inspirational! If only I had my personal orchestra, or as a minimum a few more instruments. I could adapt my day to something tonally productive.

One of my cousins has decided to join the retired ranks, at the end of the week. I took a few minutes to share the best advice I could muster.

  • Hide the alarm clock.
  • Sequence eating and sleeping in a logical order.
  • If someone suggests a return to the workplace, just giggle until that person moves along.
