Packing for transfer

posted in computing, travel |

Had my first peek inside of a malfunctioning Mac this evening. A newish one, with a tiny SSD drive and an interface that was completely unlike any other gear I have in the house. Beyond my ken. All I could do was to seal the drive into an antistatic bag, close up shop and hope that a better equipped repair shop can move things to the next level.

With summer winding down, we took a very brief RV trip over to the local campground. The dump station received my deposit, and if I have to winterize suddenly, we’re good to go. Before that, we may do a real (but brief) road trip.

I’ve prepared the wood lathe and the chop saw for transfer to son #2, and tomorrow we’ll shoehorn the boxes into van space. That way, sometime late the same day, we can carry heavy stuff up endless staircases. I have a certain sadness that I did no bowls, but maybe at a later date.

Our departure depends, by my calculation, on when Purolator will deliver my next package. It contains a long piece of aluminum mill stock, so I would like to get my goods. If the truck shows up on Monday, so much the better for me.

The commentary about our current prime minister and his penchant for costumes is over the top; do people realize that his foibles are of direct concern to one hundred thousand people, only? Give the rest of us a break. However, one meme tickles my funny bone. Consider this as an appropriate share.
