Two nights ago, we hosted a curtain alteration party. Not many invited, but very efficient at turning some base models from Ikea into what was needed for a new apartment. Today, we received photographic proof that the effort was worthwhile. Chalk one up for she who can run a sewing machine.
Son #3 and consort are back from their bike camping trip. A chance to visit areas of the province (that are accessible to those with the will to provide their own motive power). Turns out that those signs which forbid overnight camping are just a suggestion, and that park attendants don’t have the same sense of “the law is the law” that the sign posters have. Good to know.
I just had a lesson on the whole field (subfield?) of subtitle files. I ignore them, studiously. Others have developed an appreciation for the efforts of subtitlers, and the possibilities for customization. Using VLC, obviously. There are sites that provide download services (for people like me that erase them from personal libraries). Again, good to know, should the need arise (again).
Outside, a night with autumn in its pockets. The bug count is down (I had to go out to put the BBQ away); highly appreciated. Now to see if we’ll have any coyotes around to visit.
A story on the CBC website has me waiting impatiently, to see… someone has put together a VR show of two shipwrecks in this area, and I’VE DOVE ON BOTH. I want to see how much things have changed since the mid ‘70s, and I want to show the videos to my kids, who may never have a reason to don a hundredweight of equipment to see where the lobsters play.
