When water meets air
Another day with visible progress on our “road to a better home”. The HVAC team arrived, before lunch. More PVC and copper and knowledge; combine the three and our chiller is now connected, in the water sense. When we get our visit from the electrician, everything will start to hum, and I can join the ranks of the artificially cooled.
There’ll be some more construction to hide the new pipes, but that was planned. I won’t take pictures just yet (well, some for personal use, but not to be published) and maybe by this time next week I can cross this whole thing off as done. In a plus, we were billed as quoted; the upgrade was done intentionally. Is this part of the swan song of a successful entrepreneur?
Following a cryptic phone call to see where I actually lived, another truck rolled in with the “fixin’s” for our new shower. Heavy duty stuff. Took a team to carry it all downstairs, and they were rewarded with takeaway cans of a sample from our favourite brewery. I can’t actually install anything until we buy a few more crucial pieces (the rough-in valve at the top of my shopping list), but the boxes are weigh too much for us to back out now. Guess I’d better start trying to find someone with the knowledge for this job, too. So many things that school never taught me.
I’m hoping to receive a message from a ham in England, who has hooked up a transverter to a transceiver; both pieces match my gear list. Maybe he has a recipe for success, and I can cook up some new possibilities for contact with the outside world. To complete the day, I helped plant a bush. Or a tree. Or a bushy tree. Not sure what it will be once it grows up.
