Before the dust storm

posted in education |

I called the HVAC people, and there’s a good chance they’ll be by tomorrow to finish the physical install. Given that it’s been a full week since their last trip up here, I’m starting to find the timeline to be stretched. Elastic. I’ve become accustomed to dealing with companies that take my money and get the job done (thank you, Amazon). Waiting for service in dribs and drabs is so “old school”, because the billing cycle is much quicker.

At least it gave me a chance to put some more of the synth stuff back into boxes, in anticipation of renovations going ahead. Best to protect the expensive toys against dust and dirt (yes, the same thing, but anyhow). Now we can get busy with the drywall crack filling, and with the hanging of a virtual ceiling. Who knows; maybe the autumn will be painting time. I’m still torn over the idea of a “solid walls and ceiling model” for my play area. Clean. I can handle the echo potential, should I ever need to record something.

I’m finally reading Motherfoclóir, after keeping it close to my bed for far too long. The book serves as an  excellent reminder that language learning can be light-hearted. What I really want is to pass the hard-cover book on to my neighbour from down the hill, so I should press on to the final page. And then read the companion volume.

The long awaited testimony by the special prosecutor has started in Trumpland. For anyone with a sense of how things should work, it is frustrating to watch the inaction of the Republican party.
