Compromise

posted in travel |

Last night was interesting. Given that the dog had one of his two humans “away from the house”, he had to compromise. Lots of room, with only half as many hands available for belly scratches and treat distribution. He handled it well, managing to sleep for most of the night. I mean, going out for a walk under cover of darkness is fun. Right?

No matter, because once the sun came up, life went back to normal. That is, inside the apartment, with another dog to rob; life as only a dog can imagine it. On the human side, a quiet day, spent studying microphone parameters. I now know more than I did before.

By late afternoon, with the whole of our team back in place, we headed off to a local restaurant, on foot. Sidewalks require care, and this one hasn’t had much. I don’t think I want to try the same trajectory without good lighting. Ankles, etc. As for food, this was a chain restaurant, but my lasagna and salad were what I needed. Especially the embedded bacon pieces. I must try that variation in my own kitchen.

And now we’re back, lounging around in the quiet time before bunks. Last night was chilly, but I have figured out what to do to keep warm: wear my sweatshirt as an extra layer. I’ll let the others figure out their methodology.

The Canadian cellphone has figured out another way to make money, while adding insult to injury. If you forget your password, or need another transaction on your account, expect to pay for the service. Eventually, even the government will awake, and like an unruly bear, react.
