Rollover Day went OK
Rollover Day has come and gone, for my personal GPS. No, I didn’t test it on the “date”; I was distracted by other things, and got around to my testing several days later. Yes, the displayed time was correct, so I can put that particular worry away. I still have several other units to test (don’t we all), but if the time gets wonky on the unit in the car, there’s the dash clock as backup. That one doesn’t pass the Daylight Saving test, but I can compensate. There’s always a cellphone, somewhere.
More flurries. I’d best restrain my urge to dewinterize the “har-vee” for another week or so.
If my civic instincts were stronger, I’d be watching the “all leader debate” on TV, before tuning in to the storm brewing in Alberta. Out there, most of the combined brain cells of the general populace seem to be suffering from overexposure to hydrocarbon fumes. How else to justify the path they’re taking? Locally, the polls show us slowly circling the drain; we still have a week before we know the colour of the new government. Could this be the break from the Red vs Blue we deserve?
The dog has developed a tic (not a tick) where he hides fake bones… under our pillows, or among the shoes in the closet, and then gets intense when he can’t locate them. I’m also at a loss.
On various media feeds, the “who started it?’ question about yesterday’ big fire have started. One person, a ‘historic roofer’ by trade points out that any time you mix really old, dry wood with overheated tar, such things happen. Another post mentioned that really large, historic buildings are at risk; look at the number of times the British have faced loss of their heritage, in the last twenty years.
