Off to the beach
New aches and pains; this was the first beach day of the year, and between walking the waterline and dragging behind the dog, I may have awoken certain muscle groups that had missed the calendar update. No big deal. Getting out to where the white noise level is actually pleasant, and before any bugs hatch is wonderful. Of course, I was overdressed for the occasion. No danger of sunburn with three layers of heavy garments, but the beach is eternal.
We’re back home, and the probes from the family are beginning. Will we be around, should visitors come through? In mid summer, why not. Travel is off the schedule at two peak periods of the year: all winter, because winter and all summer because summer. Here, lie beaches. Or is that “Here, we lie on beaches”? Unsure, as I stopped seeking sun and sand a long time ago. Now, I’m the polite old dude with the dog that points in the general direction of the sea before going back to whatever I was doing a moment before.
From where I sit, we might have “chilly air” in place before the summer discomfort. I can simply find a good book and curl up in a cool part of the room with tunes and an ebook. You want to visit? Knock yourselves out. This is one of the better places to pass a few days on the road trip of your life.
Somehow, I have been slip streamed into a competition within my language app. Against myself, obviously, but today I achieved “Sapphire League” after completing twenty-nine exercises (compared with my usual three) since midnight. Another level has just been triggered, and at this rate I should run out of app efforts before my next beach day.
