Unusual character development plan
In school, constrained by the limits of fifty minute periods, we always had stories with clearly defined “start, middle, end”. In fact, there are generations of us that believe anything else is not really of literary value. This evening, I watched my first episode of “Russian Doll”, and I am so confused. I’ll have to go back to the well, aka Netflix, and see if things get sorted out for that young lady. I don’t thing that multiple deaths are part of the usual character development plan.
Saturday, so we had no nuisance callers on the landline. I spend my time thinking up zingers for people interested in my computer or my political bent, and then the weekend comes along. I get lax, and by Monday the cycle starts again. I should keep a script near the phone (the way they do).
One of my sisters came home with a new puppy this afternoon. I mean, I wasn’t there, but social media keeps me in the loop. Not sure I’d have the energy to start from scratch with the necessary training of a four-legged fur ball that can outrun me any old time. I should call her, tomorrow, when she’s had time to realize that her life is changed for at least another decade. Meanwhile, I live with a dog that barks at ghosts and wants to eat salad, at least until he learns that the main ingredient is plant-based.
Odd story out of the oil patch. Apparently, while the oil companies have been cajoling the Canadian public for more and more tax dollars, they’ve been selling their product to refineries at rock bottom prices. The refineries have had record revenues. Now that prices (at our end) have started to rise, the flow is slowing. Remember those pipelines? Might not be as necessary as we’ve been told.
