Calling your dog

posted in politics |

Something I don’t get to do very often, (OK, first time): call a sibling using Skype to be anonymous, and ask to speak with the new puppy that moved in yesterday. On behalf of a major political party, obviously, because every vote counts. My only regret is that I have but one chance to refine my tone, as this could actually go somewhere. People don’t expect calls for the dog (or do they?)

To be fair, our dog gets very few, (OK, no) calls. He wouldn’t know how to hold the receiver in any case, and hands’ free (paws free?) mode allows others to eavesdrop. We all deserve some privacy when dealing with political stupidity. I don’t expect the quality to improve, as the quantity increases over the election period. I also don’t expect too many visitors to the door. In more than thirty years, one party found my house, on a busy street. Here in an area that even satellites don’t seem to cover, the requirement to ask penetrating questions of people who don’t have answers should be minimal. And if anyone of note ever arrives, the dog is ready to converse, in a number of common languages.

I decided to “aircast” my iPad this afternoon. No need to throw things; this is all in software. And when I finally had my image up on the wall, I realized that there was nothing I wanted to see (at a distance). I guess I’ll carry on with my reading glasses, until I either sit on them or lose them under a handy seat cushion. I’ll leave the projection to she who actually makes programming choices around here.
