How did he ever get this far along?

posted in pets |

Consider the facts and then accept the conclusion. Winter is cold. The local service station sells fuel that is specially concocted to get through the winter. We need some. And so without any other knowledge, I purchased fifty liters of Diesel fuel, from an underground tank, simply because the station owner says that he sells to the local snow plough guy. I’m Canadian and possibly a little simple.

It doesn’t matter. We’ve parked the rig, and this is just a measure in case we need to flee to Florida.

And with that job off the list, I can now hibernate, happily. You might wonder: how did this guy ever make it this far in life, given that it gets cold, every year (for several months at a time)? Well, before I had other responsibilities. I had to go to work and if the bus arrived in my sector at the right time (for me) I boarded and rode off into the darkness. Came home by a similar process, in the dark. Again, it is intrinsically Canadian. We ride around in the dark, avoiding the cold. Cold. Dark.

Now, with all that noise behind me, I plan for emergencies that will never happen. Diesel fuel doesn’t really freeze. And if I don’t intend to travel, it doesn’t matter. Actually, I might be caught in a loop. Check back, in about six months, to see if I’ve survived.

Yesterday, a lens cap was inadvertently dropped on the trail. Today, our dog found a lens cap. This is not normal behavior for the dog. He can handle cheese, but a lens cap?
