The doctor is in, again
Looking back, this was a day with better than usual outcomes. I agreed to ride shotgun for a trip to the city; the dog doesn’t get that he could have the front seat, if he wanted. Anyhow, we were there, early. No stress. The parking lot had lots of available space, and I used some of my waiting time to retorque the car wheels. In a parking lot, nobody even notices that you’re doing stuff like that.
Still time to kill, so I headed up into the office block and stopped by to see if anything had changed with “the doctor is in” situation. He’s back! I arranged for my next appointment and returned to the car. Only a few minutes more to go.
Soon, we were in one of my favourite restaurants. A late lunch. Turns out that the “boiled dinner” is no longer on the menu. I discussed the implications with the owner, who mentioned that my taking a year to notice wasn’t apt to carry much weight going forward.
On our shopping list for today, a new toy. We now have a gadget that injects CO2 into tap water; sort of seltzer in a modern format. We added additional bottles and an extra gas cylinder, because this isn’t something available at the local general store. There were other, minor purchases, but we’re heading into a new stage in life; diminishing the amount of sugary beverages in return for the tickle of gassy water. Sweet, right?
And then we went home, because life in the city doesn’t equal life in the country, any more.
