But who lives there?

posted in environment |

Right now, we’re on a long, slow shuffle towards winter. The dog and I drove over to the garage, this morning. Early. In return for somewhat less than $30, to snow tires were mounted, and I am formally ready when the snow begins. Oh, and I found a windshield scraper, serving as additional proof that I take this stuff seriously.

We received a strange letter from the post office, yesterday. A request that we confirm our address, and list the people apt to receive mail here. Not exactly a census. Instead, a way for someone in the post office “office” to justify ways and means, I guess. The post office delivered the request, so they do have the address thing figured out. Getting a list of the folks is friendly enough, but hardly crucial in a business that is place-based. Oh, wait… maybe they’re going to fix the silly “two postal codes and three communities” detail. I figure that when the physical post office closed down, years ago, it was time to retire one of those postal codes. Confuses the government and Amazon. I mean, there’s always a faint hope by the tax people to find additional revenue points, but Amazon?

Speaking of delivery woes; in ON, the delivery of taxable drugs became a thing just over three weeks ago. There’s already been a data breach involving 4500 names.  Rookies. There are people who have been involved in “alternate retail” for decades, without ever giving up their client lists like that. What next? (No, really; what next?)
