Ground plus one
The snow is almost gone. Our lawn doesn’t resemble ground zero, exactly; I’d be willing to grade it as plus one, but the residue of two successive dogs, industrial snowblowers and the other assorted junk has left an appearance that the House And Gardens photo team will probably want to avoid. Still, a quiet optimism is felt in our neighbourhood. Fewer episodes of lawn shovelling this year (does this mean that my good example is bearing fruit?) The companies that spray chemical soup seem to be through with the supper-hour calls – guess their work term is finally here. I saw the lawn mower hiding out back. This is all good.
