Little details that count

posted in computing |

Some of the things we do at work are minor, in the greater world picture, but without them a number of people would find the day to be much longer than necessary. Small details. A wireless connection for a laptop that isn’t can stop a class session. Call the help desk and sometimes it just works. Printing the pay reports; the money still arrives in the respective bank accounts but the employee doesn’t feel that the process is “real” without the paper trail. The firewall that stops a blog skin from being displayed; the blogging still happens, but it doesn’t “look and feel” right until the process is fixed. That’s my role; make the others find a level of satisfaction in the process.
