Malls for miles and miles
Up at the local mall, in a city of 35,000 they have managed to “score” something special. In the eyes of many Islanders, one of the Costco warehouses would be very welcome. While I wait, I go where I am… they had no tiny jellybeans, but we did score some other tiny bargains.
The lunch at Montana’s was delicious. Spicy, meaty, worth a return visit. With our bellies full, we decided to shop down the highway, in Barrie. I now have a new sleeping bag, fitted while lying on a fat mattress in a side aisle. New way of doing things, for me. I’ve outgrown my mummy, so the new bag is a “modified barrel”. Change for all the best reasons.
There is a local Benz dealer in the area, so after a quick GPS direct, we were in back, asking questions. The tech was intrigued, and took the time to degrease before grabbing a multimeter and joining us in the parking area. He supports my theory; the coach batteries were nit cared fir, and have reached thecend if their road. As soon as we can get the part number, we’ll purchase replacements.
The old neighbourhood has changed. While out with the dog, I abandoned my “walk on the shoulder” habit and sought the safety of the sidewalk. Crossing the main road required an act of faith and proper crosswalks. Too many fast moving vehicles to let my guard lapse.
Still undecided about how much longer we’ll live in this driveway. Things I would do if I was home? No idea.
