Another test of trivia
On the whole, people in Canada have a reasonable sense of geography. The standard things; where we are on the globe, and who our neighbours might be are high on the scale of importance. Which brings me to a multiple choice question from tonight’s trivia game (it’s a community event). What states border on our national area.
If you can name them all, without resorting to a political map, you deserve credit. There are probably more states than you realize, even after you sort out the “does water count as a boundary?” Our team did well, but we didn’t ace the question. In fact, the judges didn’t either. There’s no mechanism for dispute, but I can’t find any place where PA and CA bump lines.
Oh well, maybe next time. We settled for a tie in third place, and gained a small amount of candy by correctly determining the population of our province. Guess that counts as knowing geography, too.
While we’re on trivial knowledge, how well would you do with theme songs from TV game shows. I had to go to school/work during the run times for a lot of the important ones, and when you depend on catching a “hook” to make an ID… it is too much like chasing down short wave radio themes. Many are called (out) but few are chosen.
Haven’t turned on the receiver for a few months. Are there still any big signals out there. Now that Radio Canada International is just a memory, I don’t know where to tune.
