Temporary darkness, elsewhere

posted in media, music, science |

Turns out, my worry was just that. We swapped out some fuses, and the whole waste evacuation system in the RV works as it should. Now if I could only locate my own fuse panel, and see if that kidney silliness will go away.

We had visitors, earlier this afternoon. An old playpen sibling. Doesn’t happen often, this family reunion business; probably more my fault that I care to admit. Anyhow, we were under sunny skies without a hint of rain (been like that for two weeks, so unrelated to anyone showing up in the driveway. This is the first time I’ve seen more than our own rigs parked there, and everything fit according to plan. This has been a rather successful week.

Watched a live concert thanks to Instagram. Not as intimate a setting as “in real life”, due to the random hearts floating upward on the screen border, but I quite enjoyed the content. One of the .Facts/Try members from YouTube. No, we will probably never meet, but I feel a familiarity after watching the shenanigans on my laptop.

The world is in the midst of a long lunar eclipse. Not here, but given the amount of coverage on social media, I can imagine the stress of s-l-o-w-l-y watching the face of the moon disappear and then come back out. Usually, I have clouds doing that for me. Turns out that this is the longest eclipse of the century. Again, I can’t see it, but I’m up to date. Coupled with some elementary information picked up in school, I’m not even afraid. This is as natural as any other condition that erases our most familiar satellite from view.
