At least they have cold air available
A busy day. We arranged for “doggy daycare” because it was far too warm for the dog to be in the car while we visited the city. Yes, it was far too warm for us, but we don’t pant as much. Anyhow, one of the summer neighbours came over, with her two yellow Labs and we left with new confidence.
First stop, the optical clinic, for a quick pressure reading. All within OEM specs (bad pun). There might even be a replacement for my specialist until schedules get back to normal.
We’re already in the area, so a visit to the hospital emergency department seemed like a good way to spend the remaining daylight hours. That’s what it comes down to if you aren’t bleeding out. Or even if you are, a little bit. We spent hours, albeit in air-conditioned conditions. Cold. And as the sun dropped low in the sky, my first “call” to see an MD.
I’ve been labouring in my personal “stone quarry”, so after greasing up my abdomen, I had a quick ultrasound. First look inside. There was enough professional interest to send me down the hall for a CAT scan. The machine looks impressive enough at stretcher level, but no big deal (or noise). Hold your breath, in and out of the hoop a few times, stand down.
In the post-mission phase, I learned that I’m similar to a pomegranate, and that there should be lots of pain and suffering ahead. Hardly something to look forward to.
Got gas. Got burgers. Got back on the road. At home the dogs were all filled with joy at the idea of extra scratching.
