Short of pole greasing
My mix of birdseed must be better than advertised; not only does the feeder attract “feathered friends”, galore, but we have the attention of the kids with tails. I call this “an afternoon at the local jailhouse”.
It’s a game. Next thing, I’ll be using the advice of folks on FB and YouTube: greasing the feeder poles, and putting obstructive cones on the way up. For now, though, a handful of seeds and an ongoing intention to transport will do.
I’ve added a Hurdy Gurdy channel to my watch list. An instrument that cries out for regular maintenance and a willingness to consult others – perfect technical madness. Forget the simple things in life. Develop a regular routine of problem solving. Bagpipes are simple in comparison.
Trying to decide if I want the price of gasoline to rise or remain the same. This is a philosophical conundrum. I know that the world needs to be weaned from fossil fuels. Higher prices will aid in diminishing consumption. At the same time, my pockets aren’t deep; each dollar in the tank (and out the exhaust pipe) is one that I can’t spend elsewhere. Not to mention the inability to go elsewhere. So confusing. Please, governing bodies. Put your best thinkers on to the question. Is a carbon tax a means to an end, or just another filching fist in the wallets of the nation? The rest of us want guidance to go with the edicts. And no, we’re not going to convert rural PEI to wind-powered rigs any time soon. Ditto for the solar solution.
