Roll it uphill

There. I finally rolled the table uphill, and now I won’t have to think about it again until the end of the summer. May that be a long and glorious period. The BBQ has a new tank of C3H8 (a throwback to my periods in senior chemistry). Not much else to do, except to find some steaks and start the sacrificial meals.

The dog went outside at coffee time, this morning. He returned, under duress, at the supper bell. He’s now back outside. If there is a better sign of spring fever, I don’t know one. Do the math, and you’ll find that he spent more time outside today than in the previous three months.

Son #3 messaged me with an emergency. His mouse and keyboard had stopped responding, leaving him unable to use the home desktop. I’d forgotten about such crises; after the mandatory removal/restore of USB devices in the control panel, and a reboot (also part of the rubric), life returned to “normal”. Do I miss my former profession? No, because there are always going to be those who are stymied by the OS. My phone will continue to ring, and my tablet will get messaged.

Another prince in the UK. I have to admit, I’m amused by the fervor of the citizens about things of such minor importance in the larger picture. There was also a heated discussion on social media about whether his mother was a princess. Apparently not.  As long as the g-grandmother continues to show face on our coinage, my contact with royalty remains constant. A new baby? Nice for the parents, I guess.
