Counting all the way to one hundred

posted in computing |

Already one hundred entries! Today I should write about something really important. So many options, so many ideas.

The puppy that lays brown eggs when she gets excited; the square hamburger patties that made supper so easy to prepare today; the video store that called to say our rentals were late (what else is new). Daily life is full of such gems. A blog, also.

Let’s face it; the whole point of a blog is to write about the mundane. The myriad of details that, by themselves, are as dull to read about as watching paint dry. The myriad of details that make each of us into an individual. Self-denigration may appear noble, but we all lead “lives of quiet desperation” (Thoreau). From a musical point, which is where this whole blog originally started, we also “go to the grave with the song still in them.” I assembled my flute today, for a necessary two minutes of practice. It felt good. I’ll see if it felt so good that I repeat the experience tomorrow.

The puppy is growing, supper is over, there’ll be other movies to return late.
