In the absence of anything

posted in environment, travel |

Still too cold for anything fun, says me. The ice wind has been present for the whole of this trip. Now stretching into two weeks, or a whole new year if you prefer. I miss my infloor heating.

Given that constant, the reasons for going outside come down to the basic needs of the dog and a moment of reprieve in a local restaurant. Son #3 came by and stayed with his dog while we went for a very homestyle meal (pea soup and hamburger in gravy with potatoes).

And now I’m taking care of some basic responsibilities after giving up on the TV. Couldn’t get the channel to change. Could’t even turn things off with the remote. A failure to communicate.

In many places, the traditional Polar Bear swim was cancelled (though not in Charlottetown). At one zoo, the penguins were kept inside… almost anxious for the next switch up in weather, as a big storm is supposed to come through later this week. Please, let me be home!

After checking the news feed, I can confirm that today really merits little mention. Other than some bragging from the leader of North Korea about how his missile can reach all of this continent (so far, he has only managed to score a direct hit on the ocean off his own shoreline), not much of anything. Call it quiet.

I’m going to go back to comparing spec sheets for different MIDI interface boxes; should keep me distracted until bedtime. And tomorrow could be better. No, really!
