Tracking that slow boat from China
The temperature peaked at 22.4C, this afternoon. I’m under an obligation to note such things. As well, there are tomatoes growing on the vines in the garden bed, and I have more than my share of houseflies, clustered on the ceiling. That’s another story, without a proper ending (yet). My swatter can only get a few, each time, before the others swarm indecisively.
All to say that life is good. One of the other family members is on the road this week, off to see the kids and express wonder about the variety of produce available in their local markets. Hey, I’ve got tomatoes. Different sizes and flavours. What more do people need?
On a whim, I opened a chat window with my local music store, and succeeded to add a couple of MIDI cables to my open order. Saves going through the six week delay required by a slow boat from China.
Speaking of that, I’m getting emails every couple of days from one Chinese vendor, letting me know that the tiny package of connectors is en route (and tracked). Customer service! I suspect there’s a motivation; fear of a dunning comment on the order that could restrict future access to the endless catalogue at eBay. Still, I can’t imagine a domestic seller bothering to track a package worth less than $10.
Have to decide what I can do this evening to make it unique. Might have to watch a movie or something. Right now, CBC fills the silence in the room, but moving pictures… what a novel idea.
