Record the colours
At the edge of a nearby field, the dog and I noticed some small flags. OK, maybe not the dog, but I had to know the why. This was human intervention. On the ground, a small green plastic disk, with an inscription. “Vernon Pitfall”. Don’t know anyone with that name hereabouts, but at home Google came to the rescue.
Scientific research. Someone trying to determine just how much danger the potato crop faces from wireworms. Sounds like a good project to me (the field does contain potatoes). I’ll leave things alone, and perhaps there’ll be a news release if ever they find Vernon or his worms.
We were out for supper this evening. Special occasion. Anyhow, from our seats by the window, we could see the sky darken and the sea go flat calm just before the squall hit. Sideways rain. We waited for better conditions before heading away. To the east, a wonderful rainbow, ending on top of the lighthouse. Could this be a sign?
The rainbow stayed visible through the showers (close to sunset time), so that when we got home there was enough time to grab the cameras and record the colours.
A classic, don’t you agree?
My social calendar now has few days of calm before the next round of concerts. Enough time to get the laundry done and catch up on life in the slow lane. I noticed that the woods are ready for a dog and master wander (beware of the ticks!). I should find some bug spray (the dog has that fancy collar already)
