Go ahead and fix it

posted in environment |

I have another “how come?” question. How come, when that guy calls from Microsoft, to let me know that there is a problem with my computer, and I thank him and say “Go ahead, fix it”, he never does. He just hangs up. Is there something that I’m missing here?

Tried a new (for me) technique on the BBQ this afternoon. We had some large pieces of chicken in the fridge, and I decided to go for it. Heated up the grill, lowered the temperature in the center and placed the meat for a long, slow session. No sauce (to burn). A minimum of extra spices. Plenty of patience. A thermometer check, near the end, just to be reassured. And it turned out not bad at all! I mean, I haven’t eaten any, yet, because I’m working my way through a set of sandwiches, but tomorrow…

I’ve figured out that my garbage guy really doesn’t care about anything other than the dump and run that he has perfected. I’ve heard tales of bag checks, and refusals, and tags that show the neighbours any anti-social tendencies but so far, I’m gold. I actually discard about two full carts every six weeks, so I’m not a heavy duty user, but I’d hate to be stuck with finding an alternate disposal for things. There’s no dump, any more.

And that about sums up my day. All quiet here. Chatted with an old school buddy that I haven’t seen in four decades; he’s also preparing for the good life, here in the Maritimes. Still has five years to prepare, so I suggested getting his real estate search started ASAP.
