Not on my list

posted in media, politics |

Watched a movie that caught me off guard, due to the humour. Called Mindhorn and has a number of cast members that are familiar faces. Also a chance to look around the Isle of Man. Altogether a good way to spend a rainy evening. No Oscar contention here, but sometimes you just need a simple distraction. Thank you, Netflix.

Seems like the CPC (Tories, in their present colours) are getting set to choose a new leader. The media is giving them lots of coverage, even if it doesn’t matter a crumb to many of us. We didn’t watch the debates, we won’t watch the rally and we have no reason to mark a ballot on their behalf. End of story.

One of my siblings is on a road trip to Nashville. Not on my list of Top 30 Places To Visit, but I can hope for some war stories when the car is back at home. It might have something to do with the accompanying soundtrack, but earplugs would be necessary if I detoured through the city.

Speaking of cities, my last address is getting set for a mayoral choice. I fear for the lack of rational thought in the area. They’ve chosen badly before; they may just do it again.

Forecasts call for an uptick in the number of hurricanes this season. It’s only a matter of time before one turns too far north and we get some serious weather. Best keep watch. My roof isn’t consolidated, yet; I’d hate to chase shingles around the village.
