Wrap the reins to park in town

Things were better in the old days. Why, when you went to town, you just threw the reins around the nearest hitching post. No parking meters. A warm leather seat waiting when you got back from the visit to the bank, or the hotel, or the newspaper office. People waving, real friendly like. Trains with whistles that went slow enough for you and your mount to run alongside, or jump aboard if the whim struck. Hats that never blew off, even in a full speed run down the highways and byways.
