Crows and magpies and me
Finding the right word for a situation is really important. For example, I grew up with the knowledge that a garage was a place that you took your car, when you wanted to spend lots of money. However, it seems that other people refer to the east end of our house with that term. I guess. It does have several different doors, and a big gate that can open on command. However, we turned that room into imperfect storage, years ago. Now, it seems that there are plans. If we can get rid of enough of our minor treasures, the room will be used to hide a car from the world at large. Rain and snow, for example. And birds. We are not there, yet.
Today, more boxes were opened, and I had a chance to identify and justify the objects inside. Mainly tools. I learned that there are different reasons for having a huge stock of seldom used tools. You might be someone that repairs things. Or, as in my case, you might be related to crows and magpies. Shiny objects, seen in a store, attract attention. With enough money, you can bring them home (the tools, not the birds). Put them in boxes, in the garage for your future. Fun game.
We also came across our case of trivia. Thousands of tiny cards with questions and answers. A game, in some ways. I did try to match the Q and A, for a while. Not as many correct matches as I had hoped. We are not throwing anything away, for now. Maybe I can study up for periodic test sessions.
