In no particular order
Let me start by stating that I believe in the rights of the government to make rules. I do wonder, sometimes, if they ever read their own rules, or work out the order of the hoops you have to go through. That is, that all the various subsystems are functional. For the safety of others.
Here’s the thing.
The new RV is a motor vehicle, and with that comes a set of conditions for use on a public motorway. You are expected to license your rig, and provide proof of insurance, and (in our jurisdiction) prove that the vehicle is sound.
In order to get insurance, you have to prove it is yours and in your driveway if it is a used vehicle but not if it is new. In order to be registered, you have to be inspected. The inspection site required that you come over, on a roadway, and that you be allowed to travel and to be inspected, shouldn’t you have to be registered and insured? Do you see the direction this is taking? See the abide. The license requires an inspection. A license requires insurance. And do not get me started in the rules for the driver of the rig. That requires that you would be able to see where you are going.
We are doing things in our own order, because the police are largely absent in this area. If we were in a city, we would not only be forced to break the rules, but we would likely get caught. Here, not so much. By tomorrow, we will have the necessary conditions “met” to be allowed to go out and about. Today; it is a gamble.
