Implausible menu
This is a holiday weekend, but not nearly as much fun as it could be. For instance, I am sure that no local restaurant is offering an all you can eat bacon buffet. Do not laugh; I have been to one of those, ages ago. It was advertised as Chinese, but the bacon was the only item I recall. Right now, if I want a plateful of crispy goodness, I will be out of luck. Might find some fish and chips, if any establishment is actually open, but the bacon will have to wait.
There are foods that are specific to holidays. Turkey is a big one, and apparently there is a day devoted to pancakes. Not on my list of places to be. Locally we do potatoes. A lot of potatoes.
So what am I going to do? There is a rumor that the Easter Bunny is coming, but rabbit stew is an acquired taste. Chocolate, on the other hand.
It doesn’t matter. I have no short list for supper. Bacon is not available. Fish; maybe. We also do not do lamb, so a curry will have to wait for a trip to the city.
I did hear that three Great Blue Herons had landed in a nearby lagoon and I could go on a hunting trip, I suppose. I have not seen that listed on any restaurant nearby, which means that it is highly irregular. Or not as full of goodness as bacon. Or turkey. We can get hamburger, without stress. Or a need to butcher a cow. Go figure.
