By mail or carrier pigeon
I know there’s a song. An earworm. Something about an ordinary day (aren’t they all, when you reach the right age?) My good idea for today’s blog is to list some of the exciting details, from mine.
First of all, no bad weather. No roof destruction. Very few spam calls. At one point, Discover called (and didn’t talk). Then the phone seemed despondent, and I ended up disconnecting and reconnecting things both upstairs and downstairs. I cannot claim that I fixed it, but when I called 411 and didn’t ask for information, that fit my pattern.
The garbage bins are empty. The coffee machine is full (of beans). The dog has water and kibble. All the dishes are out of the machine in the kitchen, which counts for something. I ate more fresh citrus, to prevent owning a bowl of mold. I guess I am on top of that one, too.
Did the laundry, and put everything away at the end of the cycle. No, I don’t fold my shirts, but I have enough hanger space to qualify as “good”. Learned that in university; we had few drawer, but a large closet and all the hangers we could pilfer from clothes rooms across campus kept the need to use a steam iron for special occasions only. There weren’t very many.
And now I’m wondering what else I should do before the sun goes down. Just an ordinary day.
Starting on a book will have to wait for inspiration. Does that come by mail, or carrier pigeon?
