Will we be powerful enough?
You can never have too much power. I am referring to electricity to run your various gadget, not the fake “political power” which is ephemeral unless you come from a long line of intermarried cousins. For this discussion, let’s stay with the electricity that comes out of your wall outlets.
We keep an eye on the evolution of systems. Not going to put in a water turbine, or a wind turbine. Perhaps some solar, some day. Still need to fund an answer for the many hours of darkness.
We do have some curiosity though, about power systems in an RV. Specifically, batteries recharged by different sources. Solar. Under hood generator. Wind? Right now, we have a minimal system, with a minimal investment. And we could (with a credit card) change to something better. How much. Well, that’s why I watch so many videos.
Came across one blog that detailed how many batteries I would need to run different gadgets. Hair dryer. Deep fryer. Electric blanket. AC on any day where I could actually remove my parka. The math is not complex, and if I find the right upgrader (not me) the RV could be really comfortable. Like being at home, with a different view out the windows. Still only up to “is it feasible”. Perhaps by next year, when we have tried real boondocking and seen the depth of our despair. Or exultation. We don’t know. Our previous system was not the same, and we were pretty snug, there. Of course, we were also younger, and cold weather didn’t cut to the bone.
