Plan your road trip
This afternoon, I followed a video thread. One that tried to separate the idyllic from the realistic. Actually, somewhat of an “I wish someone had told me these things (before I started).”
A shorter title: Life as a Nomad, without the pastel colours.
I want to reassure my friends and family. This is not my direction for the near future. I just wanted to know how others deal with being a mobile, rolling stone. Imagine that you get rich, and you purchase one of those palaces on wheels. What the industry calls a RV. Akin to a sailboat, without the requisite waterline.
And imagine that your wanderlust takes you down unfamiliar roads. First tip. Get a good map. If you drag your life down that forest road, you might want to return to your starting point. Without having to drive in reverse gear for an hour.
At the end of your day, you might want to park, securely. Without a request from the local authorities. Do you have a place to park. Walmart sells many things, but unlimited parking space isn’t always available.
Have you got enough water, and fuel, and heat and other creature comforts? The kind most of us already have at home. Unsure? Please check before hitting the open road. Are you ready for the trials and tribulations of the laws made by others? For others? Your welcome might be chillier than you hope.
This scratches the surface of a whole other world. Believe me, mankind dropped the nomadic existence for something more sedentary. On purpose. Plan your next life accordingly.
