Tests are like simulations
As of right now, the RV is parked in the driveway. At home. Not exactly “boondocking” but the electrical umbilical cord means that testing things is easy. With that noted, today I decided to heat some water. Just a little. On with the mains switch and wait for twenty miniutes (the time required for a hot cup of coffee to cool off). With that, I had hot water in the galley, and another pre-season test completed successfully. I was too keen to stop there, so I tested the outside shower. Not enough to wet myselft; I just wanted to make sure that the fancy blue slinky hose was useful. Unlike other years, no penetrating oil or rubber mallets were employed. Everything connected as if it was designed to be that simple. A good round of tests.
I could get into dumping and filling the waste water tanks (into the tall grass), but a touch of drizzle convinced me to save the fun for another afternoon. My days are already long; I want something to do, going forward.
We could have gone into full travel status, but things are getting warm in our target city. Too much to handle by old people and an old dog. The summer isn’t really started (based on the calendar), so we still have time.
Another day is almost over. Last night, we had our first meal from the local Thai restaurant, and I have sufficient leftovers to do supper. No big banquet; mainly interesting vegetables. I hope there’s a bit of protein in the bottom of my container. A special mention about the excellent quality of the takeout dishes. Going straiight into the camping gear. You never have enough gear, even in a glamping machine.
