Realign my expectations
Spring. Spring fever. Actually, odd ideas and unrealistic expectations. Too many to count, but here’s a few from this afternoon.
Got a message from family, busily doing the vacation thing in FL. So, I said to myself: that looks like fun. I could do that. No, I can’t. Try to imagine boarding a series of aircraft with a dog suffereing from the “trots”. The sprints, really. We wondered about the point to point racing through the kitchen, until we put him outside and he marked his territory in semi solid smells. Nope, not ready to fly with that.
How about loading up the RV? Well, we’re still celebrating winter. Need to dump some plumbing antifreeze, first. I checked my notes, and we’re still a month out from temperature levels that allow me to do such things. OK, FL another time.
I have other things to do. My idea of “loading” a selection of cinema on to the new iPad is underway, but my process is far from being a procedure. Better that I practice for a bit longer. I mean, I still have to figure out how to “pair” my headphones. Soon, but not yet.
Anything else fun? Well, the sump pump restarted. Not that anyone else cares about that. I have no need to test if an infloor, inhouse pool would be fun. Better that I monitor things for a bit longer. You know, until spring.
This is a long weekend. We have nothing special planned, given that the impromptu trip to FL is postponed. My practical nature, coupled with my reluctance to go and see new places that I can’t see. Soon. I’ll be braver when the seasons are the same, all along my route. Oh, and the train isn’t an option, either. The dog is reassured.
