New faces at the feeders
rained and then it was done. Last evening’s weather was just a distraction; today we are back to the quest for spring. New (for this season) birds at the feeders, with the usual excitement over seeing familiar forms. I remain curious is these are returning from a winter away, or if we have actual new talent. Hard to be sure, given the lack of indviduality. Really. A sparrow is a sparrow. Ditto for the finches.
We had no “real” visitors, but the traffic to the Point is increasing. Could be spring fever for the locals, anxious to see if there is any amount of ice at sea. My guess is no, but I’ve had my spotter credentials rescinded. If you need actual data, check with the government.
So, what else has the attention of the world? Even the news feed is sparse, although that war in Ukraine “soldiers on”. Sorry, but some lines are generated despite common sense. This show might run all summer long.
Let me check the news feed again: Nope. Guess I’ll have to invent a story or two. Did you know that the automobile is still not obsolete? And my Interent speed continues to be glacial. True facts. Also, the dog hasn’t figured out how to shoo a squirrel. Or shoe. Old dogs don’t have any clairm to being keen on learning new tricks. Right now, we’re back to hiding biscuits among the shoes (not shoos) and then pretending to be amazed at discoveries. Time to maake a movie, for the silly pet channel.
As I had assumed, the wind vane got back to work in the warmer temperatures this morning. I did flail wit a ski pole, but that was more for my own satisfaction. I mean, come summer, I won’t have any occasion.
